Indoor family photography

Here is a glimpse of a recent indoor family photography session.

It was such a joy to meet this German family living in the South of France. And to document what a Saturday morning feels like during this stage of their lives with two boys under the age of 4. Indoor family photography following a documentary approach is ideal for families with young children. Because it is stress-free and places no expectations on parents and children.

As with the other expat families that I have had the pleasure to meet and photograph in the South of France, I was really happy to meet such a sweet family with so many exciting stories to share. The mom M. and her husband were so friendly and immediately made me feel completely at home.

This indoor family photography session started with the children cooking with their parents. I simply love to include these everyday routine moments in my indoor family photography sessions. Because young children are so curious and love to be part of these mundane tasks with their parents. To me, there is something really beautiful about that. I know that parents of toddlers and preschoolers can relate to the feeling of joy when sharing these daily tasks with their curious little ones. They are so easily fascinated about things that we, adults, take for granted.

Cooking was followed by fun moments of family play and reading. Then, we headed outside for a walk in the woods. The boys simply loved exploring nature.

I was heavily pregnant during the session about to have my second boy. So it was really interesting to document the divide-and-conquer approach of being parents of 2+ young children. And I was encouraged to see how parents can still manage so beautifully the different needs of their children. Especially when you have parents that are so equally involved and present.

About your family and baby photographer

Hi, there! My name is Mariana. I am so thankful you are looking at my work on my website and blog.

As a fine art maternity, baby, and family photographer, I specialize in families with young children. I am currently ranked the number one photographer in Toulouse, France, by the Photojournalist Family Association.

If you love my work, and you are looking for an English-speaker photographer in France, I would love for us to start planning your session.

Together, we will create a collection of fine art love-filled images through a stress-free experience. My approach to photography includes a mix of very natural posing and photojournalistic moments. This allows for an experience where your whole family feels comfortable and relaxed. So all you really have to do is to enjoy being with each other.

If you live in Toulouse, you can opt to have your session in the comfort of your own home. Also, at a beautiful park, open field, or even at my studio. For destination family sessions, I offer in-home and outdoor sessions. Because of my passion for traveling, I serve families worldwide, with regular trips to Paris, London, Marseille, Basel, and Zurich. I also love photographing in Dordogne and Pays-Basque.
