An indoor family photo session is ideal for families who like the privacy and flexibility that an in-home session offers. This was the case for this family – they didn’t want an outdoor session because they didn’t want that feeling of others watching them while I photographed their family moments.
While I have a selection of outdoor locations that are nearly empty for a family photoshoot in Paris (I like locations away from the crowds), it is not always possible to guarantee there won’t be passersby. Especially in Paris! So, an indoor session is the best option for those who might feel self-conscious while being photographed in a public space.
In-home sessions are also ideal for families who live in a spacious and luminous apartment or house with a clean/fresh decor style.
I often get asked: can you achieve your signature style of luminous and clean images in any home?
To achieve the aesthetic you see in my images, I need some key elements. A LOT of natural light, soft light (no direct sunlight coming through the window), white walls, light-colored decor pieces, and your family wearing neutral/pastel outfits.
But what if you live in a dark home, or your home decor is colorful/dark AND you want an image collection that is luminous and clean? My suggestion is to do your family photoshoot in Paris outdoors. I have a curated list of outdoor locations that allow me to achieve my signature refined style. And if an in-home session is important to you for sentimental value, we could always create an experience with custom-tailored pricing that would include an in-home and outdoor session. So you get the best of both options without having to choose one or the other!
